About Husky Heating and Cooling

Who is Husky Heating & Cooling?

After working in New Zealand as a plumber, I came to Australia in the year 2000. From there I gained installation experience working for Dale Air and Conway Heating and Cooling. I then moved away from installing to do service work for Climate Technologies (Bonaire, Vulcan, Pyrox, Celair). I also started "Husky Heating and Cooling" - eventually leaving after 10 years to run my own business. I have always taken pride in my work, and have had many happy customers over the years.

The Future of Gas heating and Evaporative Cooling in Victoria.

( what follows is my personal opinion).

Evap coolers are still a nice alternative to refrigerative cooling. They are much cheaper to run than refrigerative cooling. Their cooling effect is comfortable to a moderate temperature - and is preferred by many of my own customers. I have both an evap cooler and 2 wall splits in our home. Our Evap gets used 95% of the time during summer days. Giving us comfort to all rooms, and lower power bills. I have always recommend having both forms of cooling, if you are so entitled. Evaporative coolers are not in the governments cross hairs. They are still here in Victoria, and will be for a long time.

Gas heaters are now getting the push from the local government. They are still a great form of heating, and they keep the air nice and dry in your home. Many new install companies have arrived in Victoria - coinciding with the government rebate. They may not be interested in service or repairs to existing gas heaters. I understand why that is, and I have nothing against wall splits and refrigerative cooling. My job is to keep the gas heaters safe and in working order, as I have done in the past. If there is an issues - I can then give you my honest opinion as to whether the heater has had its final day, or whether we get it back to doing its job. ( Heating your home.)
